Hello, loves! Over the holiday weekend I wanted to amp up the sexiness. I definitely did that with this skirt! I was sifting through the clearance racks at Target when I found this baby. Well, it actually found me! As bright as this skirt is it screams – “Look at me! Take me home! Wear me!” I find this to be a dress up alternative to a great sundress. I love wearing sundresses in the summer, but when the occasion calls for something with a little more oomph I find a colored pencil skirt and a printed tube top works nicely. It’s is definitely a sexy summer look. Look through your closet and match up different tube tops with your pencil skirts. A great printed tube top and a solid color pencil skirt really is a beautiful look, or vice versa – a solid tube top and a printed pencil skirt. Add a belt and a great open toe heel in an unexpected color, like I did. Mix and match colors. Take risks and see what combinations of colors really bring the outfit together. I know the trend right now is pencil skirts with crop tops, but for those who aren’t as comfortable with wearing that trend- this is the perfect alternative. I have to say this outfit really has become a quick summer fav. You can’t help but feel gorgeous in this look. Make a splash this summer with color!
Hello my lovies! Summer and sundresses go together like a wink and a smile. You just can’t have summer without lots and lots of sundresses! They are comfortable and oh so pretty. This sundress is one of my favies. I just love the patterns and colors throughout. I find myself reaching for this sundress a lot during the summer months because of its boho vibe. It makes me feel like putting flowers in my hair and running through open fields yelling, “Give peace a chance!” while holding up the peace sign. I bought this sundress a few years back and still get excited to wear it like it’s a brand new find. I paired my sundress with my more unique pieces of jewelry to give it that special touch. Just give me a summer day and a pretty sundress and I’m a happy girl!
Hello, darlings! Hope everyone had a marvelous Memorial Day weekend! I wore this little number on Saturday to kick off the weekend. I bought this skirt on clearance almost 2 years ago and I am just now wearing it! I don ‘t know what took me so long! I was drawn to the cream color instantly when I saw it hanging on the rack, and then I was taken by surprise to see that the print of the skirt was snakeskin. I instantly had to have it! It’s girly with a fun edge. One of the best things about this cream color skirt is you can pair it with any bright color blouse and it will look amazing! I wanted to go more simple with jewelry and chose earrings and bangles only – to keep focus on the outfit itself. And since I was already wearing snakeskin I thought I should add some leopard print too! Why not, right? So these heels fit the bill! Lastly, I added a Steve Madden handbag and a pair of oversized sunnies to complete my look.
Hello, dolls! Hope everyone had a great weekend! And to all the lovely mommies, I hope your Mother’s Day was as beautiful as you! It was a scorcher here in LA over the weekend! During this photo shoot it was 98 degrees! My curls didn’t stand a chance when the photo shoot began. We were able to get a few decent shots though. This is an absolute classic style. I am very much a retro babe, and feel most beautiful when I wear vintage looks. I love watching classic movies and musicals, and I am always looking for ways to re-create the fashion. I am a huge Doris Day fan and her beauty and style have always been my inspiration. She is such a timeless beauty (hence the name of this week’s post). I have always been drawn to that era, and it’s fashion – It was so flirty, beautiful, and oozing femininity. Another huge inspiration for me and this classic look is my grandmother. Well into her 80’s she refused to be seen without her lipstick. “Ladies must always wear lipstick.” She was very much a lady – I miss her everyday, but she passed on her sense of fashion to me, and the vintage Bulova watch you see me wear in almost all my fashion posts? – it was hers. Pearls, Chanel No. 5, lipstick, and a great purse – those wear her staples. And when I am wearing a classic look (like I was this weekend) and glance in the mirror – I realize how much I look like my grandma when she was young. So this week’s post in dedicated to my grandma Ginny.
Hi, my loves! Hope everyone had a great weekend and an amazing Cinco de Mayo! I, for one, will find any excuse to eat Mexican food. What, you say it’s your birthday? – let’s have Mexican food! What, you got a parking ticket? – let’s have Mexican food! You see, it’s that easy for me to turn any situation into an excuse for Mexican food. Wait… how did this post turn into talking about food? Ummm…. because I likey food… a lot. HA! Well, I will have a recipe on my page later this week for shrimp tacos, so check that out. Now, on to the real reason for this post… My amazing outfit!
I really love love love this look! You probably noticed from my previous posts, I am very much a girly girl. Polka dots, pink, pearls, ect. I’m oozing girliness, but every girl has that tough side and we like to show it off once in awhile. And while this outfit has more of an edge, it still showcases the fact that I am very much a woman – a sexy and confident woman. I will rock what I want, how I want. Snakeskin print heels and a jean jacket? – Sure, why not. Wear a studded bracelet on one arm and bangles on another? – Why yes, I think I will. Fashion is all about taking chances and risks. Some pay off and some don’t. Bottom line here – If you felt amazing wearing it then that’s all that matters. And I had fun wearing this outfit!
Hello, darlings! Hope you are having a beautiful Sunday. Just a quick post on today’s outfit. I always reach for something yellow when I want to feel extra cheerful and sunshiny. Yellow is a happy color. I paired a yellow polka dot cardigan with denim polka dot skinnies. Usually you don’t want to wear the same pattern from head to toe, but this combo actually works well together! I added a vintage locket (with a modern spin), pearl stud earrings, and of course, my staple piece – my vintage bulova watch. I wore my blue canvas shoes (since I was going to be walking a lot) and not only are they super comfy, but they are super cute!To complete my vintage style I wore an oversized pair of sunnies.
My Sunday style – Cardigan: Forever 21 (on clearance); white cami: Target (you can get it here); skinnies: Forever 21 (you can get it here); canvas shoes: Target (you can get it here); Locket: Out of the Blue (you can check out her jewelry here). watch: vintage bulova; pearl earrings: Kohl’s (old); sunnies: Big Lots (Seriously! You can get them here. Cheap, but cute).
Hi, darlings! Today I’m loving my outfit! Okay, truth is, I love ALL my outfits everyday! We tend to dress ourselves based on our mood for the day, so it only makes sense that we let fashion define us. Today my mood was fun and free, so I chose a tunic, leggings, canvas shoes, a topknot, and some accessories. This style can be played around with and you can definitely incorporate more colors in! If I had red canvas shoes then I totally would have rocked those! I truly love love love fashion, but my budget doesn’t always allow for all the things I’d like, so I mix and juggle what I have, and I keep in the back of my mind what fun things I would like to add to my closet (especially when sifting through clearance racks)! Hope everyone has an amazing weekend planned! If I had my way, I’d be at Coachella right now enjoying the music, people, and fashion!
My Friday style: Tunic – Forever21; black leggings – Forever21; shoes: Target; bracelet, yellow ring and necklace – (old from Forever 21); brown goldstone thumb ring – Local shop here in Burbank, CA called Rocks and Runes – check out their page HERE; watch: vintage bulova
